Squirrels are warm blooded animal; they reproduce their kinds by the process of mating. But how do they reproduce their kind?

When Can They Mate
The old squirrel reaches their sexual maturity when they are 10 to 12 months. Both male and female squirrel are fertile and ready for mating. How do they mate?
• They find their opposite sexes for mating.
• Female squirrel can have multiple mates.
• Female squirrel is the only responsible for raising its young.
• Male squirrels fight with each other to mate with the fertile female.
• The strongest squirrel will be the one to mate the female squirrel.

Squirrel's mating habit
Female squirrel attracts male squirrels by their scent. There are one or more male squirrels who will compete with each other to have an opportunity for mating. Both squirrels can mate with different partners. If mating was done, the female squirrels was the responsible for the baby squirrels until they can stop nursing.

When do they give birth?
Squirrels prepare their giving birth by preparing nest for their babies. The period of time when the baby will come out may differ depends on the breed of the animal. There is female squirrel who can give birth within 6 to 7 weeks, but still nurse the babies until 10 to 12 weeks old. Female squirrel can give one to nine babies at a time or some can give in a range of three to five babies.

How do they raise its young?
Female squirrel give birth to its nests, they still nurse their young within 10 to 12 weeks old. Baby squirrels don't leave its nest until their fur are fully grown, fat and can survive on their own.
