Squirrel is either a small or medium sized rodent that lives in forest and likes to ride on trees. Basically, squirrel has some specific types including ground squirrels, tree squirrels, marmots, chipmunks, prairie dogs and flying squirrels etc. This animal exists almost everywhere around the world.

Appearance:
Look of squirrels is prominent with big eyes, bushy tail and small size. They have smooth and silky fur, but it is small in size. Color of fur varies from specie to specie, while these animals are in several colors, but dark gray color is more common.

Biology:
Squirrels are rodents that have ample of categories, while they live at different places. They basically belong to Australia, America and Eurasia. There are 4 million squirrels just in America. Chipmunk, flying, ground, tree squirrels and marmots are more famous. A female squirrel may give birth up to seven or nine babies at a time.

Life Cycle:
There are different reports and surveys about total life span of squirrels. Basically, most of the research centers claim that squirrels have an average life cycle form six to eight years. However, there are some updated reports and surveys about life span of squirrels that claims that these mammals can live six to twelve years in wild life. It is also possible that they may live up to 20 years. Life span of squirrels in rural areas is bit shorter than in wild.

Habitat:
Most of squirrels like making their habitat with big leaves, while many use tree cavities to build their nest. They mostly like to live in woody areas and on trees, while many types of squirrels also like living at attic of your homes.

Diet:
Squirrels like to eat different types of dried, organic foods and some of vegetables and fruits. They often seek for;
• Sunflower seeds
• Acorns
• Berries
• Other tree nuts
• Fruits like apple
• Birdseed
• Mushrooms
• Walnuts etc.

Behavior:
Squirrels have different behaviors on grounds of weather conditions, their age and environment. Squirrels living in forest will keep hunting for foods and making more nests. Secondly, they become naughty in groups and at attic. Further, they stay in their habitats in intensive winter season.
